Meet Natalie — a spirited and creative senior from Howell, Michigan, whose lifelong Spartan pride has shaped her journey at Michigan State University. Majoring in Creative Advertising with a minor in Business, Natalie is a student in the Eli Broad College of Business and the College of Communication Arts and Sciences. With a deep passion for storytelling and design, she is honored to represent Michigan State University on this year’s Homecoming Court.
Natalie’s connection to MSU runs deep. As a second-generation Spartan, her love for the university began long before she stepped on campus — from childhood Saturdays spent at football games to family traditions rooted in green and white. That lifelong connection has only grown stronger during her time as a student, where she has found community, purpose and a clear vision for her future.
Her experience at MSU has been defined by hands-on learning and creative leadership. As Creative Director of Michigan State’s American Advertising Federation team, Natalie has helped lead national-level campaign development, gaining real-world agency experience and presenting on a national stage. Her work as a graphic designer and photographer with MSU Football and the Spartan Fund has further strengthened her skills while allowing her to contribute to the energy and storytelling behind Spartan Athletics.
Few places capture Natalie’s journey quite like Spartan Stadium — a space filled with childhood memories, college traditions and now professional experience. From cheering in the stands to working on the field, the stadium represents both the start of her Spartan story and its continued evolution.
Following graduation, Natalie plans to pursue a career as an art director in a major city such as Chicago or New York, with hopes of eventually earning a master’s degree in advertising. Long term, she aspires to return to MSU as a Professor in Practice, mentoring and inspiring the next generation of creatives just as her professors have done for her.
As a Homecoming Court representative, Natalie is excited to celebrate the community that has given her so much while advocating for the value of creativity and experiential learning. She hopes to empower students pursuing creative paths and highlight the importance of artistic expression in shaping meaningful connections and impactful work.
I want to represent and advocate for students who are pursuing creative paths, and to remind others that creativity is not only valuable, but essential. It shapes how we connect and see the world. Without it, everything would feel a little less meaningful, Earth without art really is just “eh.”
