Meet Maddie — a thoughtful and community-driven senior from Royal Oak, Michigan, whose time at Michigan State University has been shaped by leadership, service and a deep appreciation for Spartan pride. Majoring in Political Science with minors in Law, Justice and Public Policy and Women and Gender Studies, Maddie is a student in the College of Social Science and a proud member of the Honors College. She is honored to represent Michigan State University on this year’s Homecoming Court.

Maddie’s MSU experience has been defined by her commitment to building strong, supportive communities on campus. Through her involvement in student governance, including her work with ASMSU, she has developed a passion for advocacy and leadership, working to ensure that students feel heard, represented and empowered. Her academic and extracurricular experiences have strengthened her dedication to public service and creating meaningful change.

For Maddie, what makes MSU truly special is the strength of the Spartan community. She values the shared pride and connection that extends far beyond campus — a culture where a simple “Go Green” can spark a sense of belonging anywhere in the world.

One of her favorite places on campus, the gazebo overlooking the Beal Botanical Gardens, offers a peaceful space to reflect and recharge. It represents the balance she has found between her academic pursuits and her personal growth throughout her time at MSU.

Looking ahead, Maddie plans to continue her education by pursuing a master’s degree in public administration, with the goal of working in the nonprofit sector or in government. She is especially passionate about student governance, women’s leadership and creating opportunities for others to get involved and make an impact.

As a Homecoming Court representative, Maddie hopes to foster connection and belonging across campus, encouraging students to engage with their community and support one another. She is committed to uplifting others and leaving a lasting impression of what it means to be a Spartan.

Thank you for being a community that challenges, supports and inspires. By continuing to show up for one another — in both big and small ways — we can strengthen the spirit that makes MSU so special.
