Green All Over

a person holding a Spartan flag in front of a mountain lake.

No matter where you go. No matter when you graduated.

No matter the event, the company or time of day, Spartan spirit never fails to radiate from alums, friends and fans of our university.

Go Green...

It’s a vibration that pulses around the globe and brings us together in respect, understanding and camaraderie. A calling card that identifies us as companions.

The response begins with a quick burst of anticipation followed by a rush of joy. Not from a nod or a high five. But that proud and hearty exclamation we all know well:

…Go White!

This issue highlights Spartans around the world, how they spread the spirit of Green and White to their regions, and the many ways it brings communities and people together. We hope it’s both enjoyable and illuminating.

I’d also like to note that, starting with this issue, Spartan Magazine will be cutting down to two publications per year. It’s a labor of love to compile these fine stories, and we’re excited to keep bringing you the same publication each fall and spring.

So, until next time, wherever you may be, Go Green. Go White. Go State.

REQUIRED READING
I loved your article “The art of teaching the arts” (Spring ’25). I have been an urban educator for 18 years in Milwaukee. I wrote my masters thesis, “The Art of Math,” on using art to help K-12 scholars learn math, and I can affirm and reaffirm that teaching in 3D and using hands-on artistic forms help increase both math and reading scores. It also enlightens the scholar’s outlook on the community and world around them. This method of education creates a more worldly and involved citizen.

I applaud this article. It should be required reading for all would be teachers.

CAMPBELL HALL PROUD
Thank you for the great article on the Campbell Hall renovation. I was president of North Campbell in 1956-57 and a lot of us went to class and had jobs in our own cafeteria. We were there for each other with the time we had left.

We were very fortunate to be in North Campbell as its location gave us great access to campus and the town. North Campbell was the right place for all of us!
