It’s time again to celebrate another group of Spartan graduates—and welcome them to the alumni family. Young alums are a crucial part of our base, spreading passion and goodwill for MSU far and wide as they venture off to write their next chapters. The Class of 2025’s impact will be no different—this year’s grads bring our total alumni count to nearly 550,000. Congratulations to everyone who moved their tassels this spring and know that you always have a home in East Lansing.
Looking back at the season, we have much to be proud of. Give Green Day was nothing short of historic, with the March 11 event raising a record $2,231,350 thanks to 7,145 passionate Spartan donors. As gifts come in from around the world in support of MSU’s comprehensive campaign, Uncommon Will, Far Better World., I’d like to thank everyone who takes the future of our university to heart. Every gift of every size makes a meaningful difference, and a special note of gratitude goes out to our first-time donors. Your spark of passion and interest keep us energetically moving forward.
With summer now upon us, the energy has shifted on campus—but there’s still plenty of buzz. We look forward to our Spartan Reunions June 18-20, an opportunity for classmates to reconnect and relive their MSU memories. But you don’t have to be in East Lansing to stay in touch with your fellow Spartans. All summer, alumni clubs and communities from coast to coast (and beyond) are planning events and outings. Bookmark the events calendar to get involved and stay in the know: alumni.msu.edu/events.
One event to watch out for, the We Give Blood Drive competition, kicks off in August. The 2024 event made history, saving as many as 60,000 lives. It’s a good opportunity to give back, and with all 18 Big Ten schools competing head-to-head, maybe gain some bragging rights. Plus, you can participate from anywhere.
I’ll end on one final bit of MSU Alumni news. We’re excited to unveil the newly redesigned alumni website. It’s been a long time in the making, and we’re very proud to bring you a fresh digital experience that is user friendly, mobile friendly and full of Spartan spirit. Visit alumni.msu.edu to take a look.
Go Green!
