Michigan State University has added suicide prevention resources to all Spartan Cards. Each card now features the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, a QR code linking to campus crisis resources, and the message “You Are Not Alone.” This student-driven initiative aims to make mental health support more accessible and reduce stigma, aligning with MSU’s commitment to fostering a culture of wellbeing.
What Is 988?
988 is the nationwide, three-digit dialing code for the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline in the U.S. It connects callers to trained counselors who provide free, confidential support for anyone experiencing a mental health crisis, emotional distress or suicidal thoughts.
