ENGINEERING ALUMNUS PUBLISHES INSPIRATIONAL BOOK

Michael Mitcham, a 1985 alumnus from the College of Engineering just published a new inspirational book entitled Ahead in the Count: One Baseball Fan’s Guide to Career and Life Success.
Using an analogy of baseball and the Detroit Tigers, his story is one of success against the odds and of rising above a childhood rooted in urban upheaval and social turmoil. It's also a story of leadership, encouragement, and a pure love for baseball, America's great unifier. As a mentor, role model, husband and father of three adult children, Mitcham shares wisdom and experience from his own life, with chapter titles such as "Life Is a Team Sport," "Play Through the Pain" and "Every At-Bat Is a New Chance."
Michael Mitcham grew up in Detroit, MI and earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Michigan State University, as well as a Master of Business Administration from Northern Illinois University. After three decades in the telecommunications industry, Mitcham is now a senior network engineering and operations executive at Charter Communications in Cincinnati, Ohio.
