MSU ALUMNA RECEIVES PRESTIGIOUS POETRY PRIZE

Detroit native and MSU graudate Carolyn Forche was recently named one of two poets and eight writers who won $165,000 through Yale University’s 2017 Windham-Campbell Prize.

The literary award is one of the industry's richest. This is the first year in which poetry was included in the competition. Forche currently lives in Maryland, where she serves as a professor of English and director of the Lannan Center for Poetics and Social Practice at Georgetown University.
