A young Spartan alumna is a key player in the big changes happening in Detroit.

Latrice Davis, a 2010 graduate from the College of Communication Arts and Sciences, is the Senior Associate for Develop Detroit, a citywide, neighborhood-focused nonprofit development firm that is focused on revitalizing the Motor City.

Develop Detroit is dedicated to building high-quality homes for all Detroiters, including market rate options for both buyers and renters, and housing for seniors and the chronically homeless. Currently, Develop Detroit has some 300-400 units of housing options already in the planning stages including existing buildings that will be renovated and expanded.

The launch announcement came on the heels of JPMorgan Chase’s news in June of a $4 million dollar investment in Develop Detroit over the course of the next four years.  JPMorgan Chase is joined by the Ford Foundation and The Kresge Foundation, both of which have also invested in Develop Detroit.

Previously, Davis has worked as an Account Manager for 1stdibs.com, the Owner of her own production company, Davis Productions, and the Finance & Business Development Assistant for LVMH-Fresh Inc. She also attended the Institute for Social Innovation, a short fellowship program through StartingBloc.

In addition to being a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., LaTrice is an active volunteer with The Junior League, an organization of women committed to harnessing the power of volunteerism, transforming our communities and training women to lead.
