Spartan alumnus named executive leader at space systems company

SPARTAN ALUMNUS NAMED EXECUTIVE LEADER AT SPACE SYSTEMS COMPANY

Lockheed Martin Space Systems Company recently named Mathew J. Joyce as vice president and general manager of Strategic and Missile Defense Systems for the company.

Joyce joined Lockheed Martin in 1984 and most recently was vice president of fleet ballistic missile programs.

Lockheed Martin is a global security and aerospace company housed in Bethesda, Maryland, and is principally engaged in the research, design, development, manufacture, integration and sustainment of advanced technology systems, products and services.

Jocye's new line of business is based in Sunnyvale, California, and has approximately 3,500 employees in 10 states and the United Kingdom who support programs for the U.S. Department of Defense and U.K. Ministry of Defence.

Joyce received a bachelor of science degree in chemistry in 1981 from Michigan State University.
