SPARTAN ALUMNA WINS ARTPRIZE

Keeping in theme with this year's homecoming theme, "Spartans take the World Stage," a Spartan alumna recently made history at one of the world's biggest art competitions.
Ann Loveless '82, along with her husband Steve, recently won the top prize at the Seventh Annual ArtPrize competition held in Grand Rapids. With the win, the Loveless' became the only people to win the top prize twice. The Loveless' previously took home the top prize of $200,000 in 2013.
Their entry was titled Northwood Awakening, and represents "the renewal of flora in our Northernwoods forests as it awakens from winter hibernation." It took more than 1,000 hours to create.
Ann Loveless graduated from Michigan State in 1982 with a bachelor's degree in clothing and textiles.
