MSU ALUMNA HELPS LEAD ATLANTA GIRL SCOUTS

Monique Honaman has been elected as a board director for Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta and will serve in a three-year term beginning in October. Honaman’s leadership will help cultivate stronger relationships with corporations, foundations and philanthropic individuals in greater Atlanta.
As an entrepreneur, Honaman founded Incite Strategies in 1999 and HR OptIn in 2007. Incite Strategies focuses on global leadership assessment, development, and coaching. HR OptIn provides contract human resource project management solutions. In 2009, the two businesses merged to formally create ISHR Group.
“I am happy to serve on the Board of the Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta. As a former Girl Scout, and as someone who works in leadership development today, there is nothing about the mission – to build girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place - that I can’t fully support,” states Honaman.
She earned a master's in labor and industrial relations from the MSU College of Social Science in 1992.
Honaman has built an esteemed reputation in the key human resource areas of leadership assessment and development. She has dedicated her career to her passion for people development. She is a member of the Women Presidents’ Organization (WPO), the Michigan State University Alumni Relations Board, the Zoo Atlanta Leadership Council, and the Leadership Atlanta Class of 2016.
The board’s primary focus will be to increase the membership base and continue to grow Girl Scouts as leaders both locally and globally. The board will assist the Council in providing the Girl Scout Leadership Experience to every girl regardless of financial ability, with a goal of doubling their financial assistance to 20,000 girls by 2020.
