MSU GRADUATE PROMOTED TO BRIGADIER GENERAL IN US AIR FORCE

MSU and Air Force ROTC graduate Chad Manske has been promoted to Brigadier General in the U.S. Air Force, the fourth-highest rank in that branch of the service.
Manske earned his officer commission through MSU's Air Force Reserve Officers’ Training Corp, began his flying career at Malmstrom Air Force Base in Montana and has commanded at the squadron, group and wing levels.
He has been deployed in support of ongoing operations in Central and Southwest Asia as an air expeditionary group commander, the director of the U.S. Central Command’s Deployment and Distribution Operations Center, and as an air expeditionary wing commander for Operations Odyssey Dawn and Unified Protector.
Manske is a 1985 graduate from Gladstone Area High School. He earned a BA in political science in the MSU College of Social Science in 1989.
In addition, he earned a master's degree in aeronautical science at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, a master's in operational art and science degree from Air Command and Staff College, a master's in airpower art and science from the School of Advanced Airpower Studies,and he was was a National Defense Fellow at the Weatherhead Center for International Affairs at Harvard University, and he was a military fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations in New York City.
