MICHIGAN STATE ALUMNA'S BOOK RE-RELEASED

MSU alumna and educator Karen A. Bosch recently released the fourth edition of The First-Year Teacher: Be Ready for Your Classroom, through Corwin Press. 

She is a professor of education at Virginia Wesleyan College in Norfolk, VA, where she coordinates the college's education department and directs its teacher education program. Recently, she received the college's Samuel Nelson Gray Distinguished Teaching Award.

Previous to that, she received the college's Batten Distinguished Faculty Award for excellence in teaching, scholarship and inspiring others.

Bosch also penned the book Planning Classroom Management for Change. She does educational consulting on the side. Her seminars and workshops focus on classroom management, lesson planning and effective classroom teaching. She has presented her research and her teacher-preparation program models at conferences nationwide.
