MICHIGAN STATE ALUMNA JOINS NONPROFIT

Ashly Jurek has been named an accountant at the Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan.
She previously served as a paraprofessional at UHY Advisors in Farmington Hills, Mich. While there, she developed personal, corporate and individual tax returns and drafted financial statements for reviews and compilations. She also served as an accounting intern at Big Brothers Big Sisters in Chicago.
In 2010, Jurek earned an MSU bachelor's degree in business, specializing in accounting. At present, she is pursuing an MBA degree at Oakland University. In addition, she serves as the treasurer of South Oakland County Soccer.
The Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan is a full-service philanthropic organization. A permanent community endowment built by gifts from thousands of individuals and organization, it is committed to the future of southeast Michigan. It supports a wide variety of activities benefiting education, arts and culture, health, human services, community development and civic affairs.
Since its inception, the foundation has distributed more than $600 million through more than 47,000 grants to nonprofit organizations throughout Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, Monroe, Washtenaw, St. Clair and Livingston counties.
