DAUGHTER PRESERVES PRECIOUS CORRESPONDENCE

Elizabeth (Zill) VandenBerghe invites readers to visit the 1950s through the eyes of her parents, both graduates of Michigan State College. She writes:
"My father attended Michigan State College in the fall of 1950 and in December of that year was drafted into the Army. One year later he was fighting 'The Forgotten War' in Korea. I created a website to honor him. It features the letters he wrote home to his parents and to my mom.
"In the month of October 1951, he talks quite a bit about MSC football and that other team from Ann Arbor. The letters that he wrote to my mother were sent to her at MSC where she was a coed.
"I also have posted many letters from my mother to her parents during her senior year at MSC where she talks about her studies, working at the Union, being a student leader, meeting Mr. and Mrs. John A. Hannah and serving on a committee with them. She graduated with a teaching degree in June of 1953."
