MSU GRAD TAKES SPARTAN PRIDE TO UGANDA

Andrew Whitaker, '14, is spreading his wings in Africa. He is presently teaching English to refugee children living in Uganda's capital, Kampala.

If he looks familiar to you, you may have spotted him at MSU football games, where he previously worked as a team manager.

A sports lover, he is also coaching a local children's soccer team.

And it's possible he's recruiting a future generation of Spartan collegians.

"I have a lot of Spartan pride," he recently wrote in an email. "Pretty much every day I am either wearing green or white, teaching kids the fight song, or desperately searching for a way to get Internet to keep up on how MSU's sports teams are doing."

When time and online connections permit, Whitaker is blogging about his experiences. He welcomes followers.
