PRE-GAME ALUMNI TENTS

          Begin your tailgating Saturdays by visiting the MSUAA Hospitality Tent before each home game (except Homecoming), just northeast of Spartan Stadium. We have exclusive Spartan wear by Roots, Inc., food samples from local merchants, a football toss game, face painting and much more. Each week will feature a special guest speaker.

HOMECOMING WEEK 2003 MSU: THE ROOTS OF EXCELLENCE! GRAND AWARDS CEREMONY

          Thursday, October 2, at Kellogg Center. In one of the university’s premier gala events, the MSUAA will present awards for Distinguished Alumni, Honorary Alumni, Alumni Service, and Philanthropy. Every year the line-up of honorees consists of truly remarkable individuals. To attend the event, register at 517-355-8314. 

HOMECOMING PARADE

          Friday, October 3, around Grand River Avenue beginning at 6 p.m. The parade will feature the MSU Homecoming Court, MSU Interim President and Provost Lou Anna Simon, MSU First Lady Joanne McPherson, Grand Marshal Michael Budman, the Spartan Marching Band, the MSU Cheerleaders, floats designed by MSU students and several high school marching bands. This year’s Grand Marshal is Michael Budman, ’68, co-founder and CEO of Roots Athletic Wear.

NATIONAL ALUMNI BOARD MEETING

          Friday, October 3, 2003 at the University Club of MSU. Committee meetings from 8-10 a.m., board meeting at 10 am.

HOMECOMING GREEN AND WHITE BRUNCH

          Saturday, October 4, 2003, at Kellogg Center, beginning three hours before kickoff. This year’s Green and White Brunch will feature an outstanding buffet brunch, the Spartan Marching Band and Spartan Dance Team, the Homecoming Parade Marshal, the MSU Homecoming Court, and Sparty. Speakers include MSU athletic director Ron Mason and head football coach John L. Smith. To register for the event, call 517-355-8314 or register online after Aug. 1.
